Saxon Air takes immense pride in our thriving onsite bee population, which has become an integral part of our commitment to environmental stewardship. Recently, we have made significant strides in expanding our apiary, doubling our bee population to an impressive 80,000 bees. This expansion not only contributes to local biodiversity but also aligns with our sustainable business practices.
Our bees play a crucial role in pollinating the surrounding area, supporting local flowers, and enhancing the ecosystem. The nectar collected by these industrious insects is used to produce our very own Saxon Air honey, a testament to the purity of our local environment. Additionally, we have begun crafting beeswax candles, utilizing every aspect of our apiary’s output, and reducing waste.
Looking to the future, we have developed plans to offer beekeeper courses to our staff. These educational programs will provide our team with valuable insights into bee behaviour, hive management, and the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem. By fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for our bees, we aim to ensure their continued care and well-being on our premises.
This initiative not only supports environmental conservation but also promotes employee engagement and education. It reflects Saxon Air’s holistic approach to sustainability, combining aviation operations with eco-friendly practices that benefit our local community and environment.
