Solar Panels

28 January 2025

In February 2024, Saxon Air took a significant step towards a Net Zero facility by installing solar panels on the roof of our Business Aviation Centre. The results of this initiative have been remarkable, showcasing our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy sources.

To quantify the impact of this investment, we commissioned an official energy audit in August 2024, conducted by an independent third party. The audit confirmed the substantial positive effect our solar panels are having on our facilities’ energy consumption. The results were impressive, revealing an extraordinary reduction of approximately 50% in our electricity usage when compared to the same timeframe (February-July) in 2022.

This dramatic decrease in energy consumption can be directly attributed to the installation of our solar panel system. By harnessing the power of the sun, we have not only significantly reduced our reliance on the grid but also decreased our operational costs and environmental impact.

The success of this project demonstrates Saxon Air’s dedication to innovative, sustainable solutions in aviation. It serves as a model for how aviation businesses can effectively integrate renewable energy sources into their operations, contributing to a greener future for the industry.

Moving forward, we plan to monitor and optimize our solar energy usage, with the potential of expanding our solar array to cover 100% of our Electricity needs.
