The use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a crucial factor in Saxon Air’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations. Our helicopter, G-KLNM, based at our Norwich headquarters, exclusively uplifts SAF when refuelling at this location. This practice demonstrates our dedication to reducing our carbon footprint in our rotary-wing operations.
In 2024, from January to September, we have already uplifted nearly 3,000 litres of SAF for this single aircraft alone, showcasing significant progress in our sustainability efforts. This achievement represents a substantial reduction in our greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional jet fuel.
While our helicopter operations have embraced SAF, we are actively working towards expanding its use across our fixed-wing fleet. Our goal is to increase SAF uplift at various destinations throughout the UK and Europe. This initiative aligns with the broader aviation industry’s push towards more sustainable practices and contributes to the global effort to combat climate change.
