Two family-owned Norfolk businesses have joined forces to transform Saxon Air’s charter lounge at Norwich Airport, bringing together local craftsmanship, sophisticated design and a shared passion for exceptional customer experiences.
Norwich, 30 October 2026 – Saxon Air has officially unveiled its newly transformed charter lounge at Norwich Airport, following a partnership with Norfolk furniture and interiors specialists John Doe Carpets, Beds & Furniture.
The collaboration marks an exciting milestone for the two family-owned businesses, bringing together their shared commitment to quality, thoughtful hospitality and exceptional customer service to create an elevated experience for aviation guests travelling through Norwich.
Designed and furnished by the John Doe team, the lounge has undergone a complete transformation, introducing a sophisticated yet inviting interior that reflects the premium experience synonymous with Saxon Air’s aviation services.
From carefully curated furnishings and rich textures to ambient lighting and elegant herringbone flooring, every element has been thoughtfully considered to create a welcoming environment where guests can relax and unwind before or after their journey.
The new lounge was officially unveiled on Thursday 29 October at an exclusive launch event, bringing together guests, business leaders and local partners to celebrate the collaboration and experience the transformed space firsthand.
For both businesses, the collaboration represents more than an interior transformation. It is a celebration of Norfolk enterprise, demonstrating the value of local partnerships and the shared ambition to deliver exceptional experiences.
Nathan Doe, Managing Director of John Doe Carpets, Beds & Furniture Limited, said: “We are incredibly proud to be collaborating with Saxon Air on such a prestigious and exciting project. As two local Norfolk businesses, our brands align perfectly. We both place people at the heart of everything we do and are dedicated to creating outstanding experiences for our customers. This made the partnership a natural fit from the very beginning. “Now that the lounge is complete, we couldn’t be prouder of the end result. It’s been fantastic to see the vision come to life, transforming the previous space into a completely new environment that feels welcoming, refined and befitting of the experience Saxon Air delivers to its charter guests.
Nathan continues “A huge amount of credit must go to our Interior Designer, Tami Collins, who has done an outstanding job in transforming the lounge. Her vision, attention to detail and understanding of how to bring a space together have been instrumental in achieving such an impressive result. We can’t wait for Saxon Air’s guests to experience the lounge for themselves. Their experience is what matters most, and we’re really looking forward to hearing their feedback.”
The creative vision behind the transformation was led by Tami Collins, Interior Designer at John Doe, who sought to strike a careful balance between understated luxury, contemporary design and a genuine sense of warmth.
Tami explained: “Being given the opportunity to design a lounge at Saxon Air was an incredibly exciting project. Knowing that the space would be experienced by Saxon Air’s charter clientele gave us a clear ambition from the outset: to create somewhere that felt truly special, with a level of quality and attention to detail worthy of the experience they expect. When developing the design, I wanted to create an atmosphere that felt both sophisticated and inviting, bringing together rich textures, carefully considered finishes, mood lighting and a beautiful herringbone floor. Every element played its part in shaping the overall feel of the lounge, from the choice of furnishings to the finer details that elevate a space beyond the ordinary.
Tami went on to add “The aim was to create a premium environment where guests could relax, unwind and enjoy a sense of exclusivity before and after their journey. It was a real pleasure to work with Saxon Air throughout the project, and I hope every guest who walks through the door thoroughly enjoys their experience.”
As an aviation operator headquartered at Norwich Airport, Saxon Air plays a role in connecting Norfolk with destinations across the UK and beyond. The partnership reflects the company’s wider ambition to champion regional businesses and showcase the quality, talent and experiences that Norfolk has to offer.
Alex Durand, CEO of Saxon Air, commented: “As a gateway to Norfolk, we are particularly proud to champion local businesses and showcase the exceptional talent, craftsmanship and expertise our region has to offer. This partnership is a fantastic example of two established Norfolk businesses coming together, united by shared values and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences. It also reflects our wider ambition to connect our clients with the very best of Norfolk, celebrating the businesses and people that make our region such a special destination. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together with John Doe and look forward to welcoming our guests into a space that truly reflects the quality, hospitality and attention to detail synonymous with both our brands.”
The unveiling marks another step in Saxon Air’s continued commitment to enhancing the experience of its aviation clientele, ensuring that the same level of care, attention and personal service experienced in the air is reflected on the ground.
Beyond the physical transformation, the collaboration highlights the strength of Norfolk’s business community and the opportunities created when local organisations combine their expertise and shared values.
The newly refurbished lounge is now welcoming Saxon Air’s charter guests, offering a refined first impression of Norfolk for arriving visitors and a comfortable departure experience for those travelling further afield.
